Are the ingredients safe for kids with sensitive skin or allergies?
Soap kits are formulated with gentle, preservative-free, cosmetic-grade ingredients designed to be safe for kids' skin. They are free from preservatives, SLS/SLES, phthalates, parabens, and PEG, making them a conscious choice for sensitive skin. As with any new product, we recommend a patch test for children with known skin sensitivities, and the full ingredient list is on each product page.
Will the soap actually work, or is this just a craft activity?
Kids make real, usable artful versions of soap they can lather up in the bath or sink. The finished gems, galaxies and hearts aren't just cute, but they actually clean. Most kids want to keep using them long after the making is done. Our melt & pour soap base is easy to use and always detergent free.
What age is this really right for?
Our soap kits are recommended for ages 6+. The process involves hot soap, so a grown-up should handle melting and pouring steps with younger makers.
How messy does this get, and how do we clean up?
We like to call our kits, "mess-managed." Soap-making is one of the tidier crafts, because any drips or spills are, well, soap. A quick wipe with a damp cloth handles most cleanup. We recommend covering your workspace with the included mess mat or a silicone mat.
How long does the finished soap last?
Properly stored (cool, dry spot, not in a steamy shower between uses), the finished bars can last several months. Most families use them up long before that.
